I keep asking for them to be unblocked, but sometimes it takes a while by which time the moment has gone - one of the things I like about the web is the "let's have a look at... right now" I have just booked tickets to the screen machine on behalf of my colleagues for a staff night out and amazingly it worked. Don't give up though, or it looks as though there isn't a problem..

in fairness to the powers that be, an alternative filtering solution had to be sought after the withdrawal of iGear, and a considerable number of other LA's were using Websense.
That said, your story troubles me deeply. If this is your experience as a tech savvy teacher, how far do the less savvy get in this process?
I find it bizarre that we invest so much time in filtering solutions and so little time in teaching information literacy - curious, bearing in mind our objective in education.

It is depressing that this still keeps happening.
If teachers were allowed to buy a fridge, book a holiday or get a bargain on eBay at least after school hours how much would it improve there skills?
Seems that some of the powers that be want there aCfE cake but will not allow access to the flour.
